<p>The 2025 Michelin Guide for UK and Ireland awards were held this year in Glasgow – with huge congratulations, here are your local Michelin winners. Release the waistband and hand me a fork, I’m going in.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s game on for this rustic and rural restaurant in the Vale of Belvoir, which nabbed a coveted Michelin Green Star for 2025. The Green Star awards were new to the Michelin Guides in 2021 where&nbsp;restaurants&nbsp;were awarded&nbsp;green stars&nbsp;for ‘sustainable gastronomy’, meaning stand-out ethical and environmental standards, including working closely with farmers and foragers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jericho is set on the farm where Chef-Owner Richard grew up and the menu takes a surprise tasting format (which means you have to be open to trying pretty much anything and everything), with an extended series courses that frequently involve cooking over charcoal. Richard’s cuisine is informed by his surroundings, with game and kitchen garden vegetables playing a particularly big role. The wine list has a sustainable ethos too, with natural, organic and bio-dynamic options.</p>

<p>Hambleton Hall is the proud proprietor of the UK&#8217;s longest-retained Michelin Star &#8211; they&#8217;ve held one since 1982 and we reckon that&#8217;s quite an impressive achievement. With an idyllic setting on the shore of Rutland Water, Aaron Patterson has headed up the stoves since 1992, serving up accomplished seasonal dishes with a classical base, distinct flavours and plenty of modern touches. Bread comes from the unrivaled Hambleton Bakery, which is also well worth a visit. </p>

<p>Owner John Duffin is Head Chef at this family-run enterprise, while brother Tom runs the 400-acre farm that surrounds the 16th century farmhouse. From herbs, vegetables and fruits to beef, pork and lamb – their natural and organic produce informs and inspires the tasting menus. Start the experience with drinks on the ground floor then head upstairs to the rustic restaurant for the main event. There are even two luxury cottages, set in a 19th century converted stable and hay barn, so you can round off a sumptuous meal safe in the knowledge that you don’t have to head far to rest your weary head when it comes to bedtime.</p>

<p>Bib Gourmands are a distinction that highlight restaurants offering great quality and great value cooking, so it&#8217;s no surprise that celebrations were afoot when it was announced that Hitchen&#8217;s Barn have retained their&#8217;s for 2025. Neil and Louise Hitchen have brought a rustic vibe to their eponymously named restaurant, and you&#8217;ll get a warm welcome from host Louise and her team, whilst Chef Neil heads up the kitchen, producing good value, seasonal dishes. Go for the Cornish turbot on the bone and you won’t be disappointed and the wine list is as well-priced as the food.</p>
