<p>Set in what is undeniably one of the most elegant boutique hotels and dining destinations in the region, The William Cecil, which lies within The Burghley Estate, gorgeous Milly&#8217;s Bistro is offering two courses from £22 and three courses from £27, with a weekly changing menu offering the like of Pork loin steak, herb polenta and black cabbage; or Seabream, crushed new potatoes and tenderstem. </p>

<p>Native rare breeds and heirloom fruit and vegetables take pride of place on the menu here, with homemade breads using flour from Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire, and much of the meat from right here in the village. The ever-changing seasonal menus are always boosted by an impressive specials board, all based on what’s available locally, or what fish has just arrived fresh off the boat. The daily-changing set menu offers diners two courses for £29 or three for £34, with the like of whole Megrim sole or steak and kidney suet pudding on offer. </p>

<p>It&#8217;s seriously difficult to get a table at this fabulous Michelin starred dining spot, but if you can manage it, the seasonal set lunch menu makes for a pretty fabulous indulgence, with three courses for £49 Wednesday &#8211; Saturday. Chuck in a wine flight for an extra £38. I&#8217;ll take the Loch Duart smoked salmon and Cornish skate thanks very much. </p>

<p>This gorgeous pub, one of a small group co-owned by cricketing legends Andrew Gurney and Stuart Broad, is beautifully styled and incredibly welcoming. You can enjoy two courses for £20 or three courses for £26, Monday–Friday lunchtimes throughout January and February, with the menu boasting the the likes of apple and parsnip soup served with Hambleton sourdough toast; chimichurri grain bowl with tahini yoghurt, roasted squash  and halloumi; or bangers and mash, buttered greens and gravy. </p>

<p>One of our favourite places to hunker down by the fire and tuck in to a tasty meal, there&#8217;s 15% off the Mon-Thur set menu at the National Muddy Award Winning Finch&#8217;s Arms in January and February, meaning you can now get 2 courses for just £23.50 or 3 courses for £27.20. Think smoked ham hock terrine with celeriac remoulade; butter poached chicken breast with tarragon pomme puree; and baked New York cheesecake mousse. Mmmm.</p>

<p>Spilling over with history and heritage, we reckon the&nbsp;Bull and Swan&nbsp;is everything a traditional English inn should be &#8211; cosy and unpretentious, but utterly gorgeous, the ale is real, and the food is comfortingly traditional but elevated. The set menu at The Bull and Swan is £19 for two courses or £24 for three &#8211; think minute steak with peppercorn sauce or vegetable curry with rice and chapati. </p>

<p>Make a beeline for this Michelin Bib Gourmand winning restaurant, which is set in a beautifully converted barn at the heart of Oakham. They&#8217;ve got a fantastic deal on that&#8217;s running until 28 March, when you can ordertwo course for £24 (add a third for just £4), Tue-Sat (excluding Valentine&#8217;s Day). Think smoked haddock fishcake or braised beef brisket. </p>

You can currently nab two mains for £26, Monday-Thursday lunch &amp; dinner, and Friday lunch time only. Amazing prices as it can make it close to half the cost, depending on what you opt for. <p>The midweek lunchtime menu at Tap and Kitchen at Oundle Wharf is always a winner, with 2 courses for £22 or 3 courses for £26, or you can get a light lunch for £12 with any sandwich or salad and a side of your choice. Fancy a salt beef deli sub and a glass of red; prawn cocktail or chicken livers on toast, followed by Hereford minute steak or fish pie and a sticky toffee pud? Don&#8217;t mind if we do.</p>

Hambleton Hall have a great &#8220;lunch for less&#8221; offer running until 27 Feb, with two courses for £49.50 and a third for an additional £13.50, available Monday &#8211; Friday. Okay, I know it&#8217;s not mega cheap, but we reckon that that&#8217;s pretty decent for a Michelin star. </p>
