<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/theloftcafeandloungebar" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Loft</a> on the High Street is the perfect spot for brunch, lunch or coffee and rather fantastic cakes and afternoon teas. We also love <a href="https://www.instagram.com/vespaccino/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vespaccino</a>, the coolest Piaggio Ape coffee van (aka Violet)&nbsp;based out of Moulton Public Gardens. And there&#8217;s not one but three pubs in the village, with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thetelegraphmoulton/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Telegraph</a>, a 17th century coaching inn serving up gastro staples, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thecardiganarms_moulton/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Cardigan Arms</a> offering a pretty decent array of regular foodie pop-ups from burgers and BBQ to roast dinner yorkie wraps and pizza, whilst <a href="https://en-gb.facebook.com/TheArtichokeMoulton/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Artichoke</a> is great for pub grub and live music.</p>

<p>Moulton has all the essentials covered, with a village store, Co-op and Aldi for everyday groceries – or you can nip into nearby Kingsthorpe for Waitrose if you can&#8217;t live without it. Over at Grove Farm, there&#8217;s a lovely clutch of independents including <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tickertyboo/?hl=en-gb" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tickerty Boo</a> (a great little gift and homewares shop), and Moulton Warbrobe, packed with womenswear and accessories. Wild Florrie creates gorgeous hand-tied bouquets and runs regular workshops while Beckworth Emporium in nearby Mears Ashby is a go-to for garden goodies and its fab food hall. And if you&#8217;re zooming into Northampton, make time for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CxX65IFNAak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Not Another Jungle</a>&nbsp;(a houseplant lover&#8217;s heaven),&nbsp;<a href="https://www.abraxascookshop.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Abraxas Cookshop</a>, the wonderful deli&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/stgilescheese/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">St Giles Cheese</a>&nbsp;and designer boutique&nbsp;<a href="https://32theguild.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">32 The Guild</a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/moulton-leisure-centre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moulton Leisure Centre</a> is a great place to start, with a 25m swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, group fitness studio, dedicated group cycling studio and a spa with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. There&#8217;s also a branch of local heroes <a href="https://northantsleicsrutland.muddystilettos.co.uk/lifestyle/wellbeing-lifestyle/review-empowerment-training-centre-northampton/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Back and Body Clinic</a> for physio, osteopathy, sports massage and 1:1 pilates. Just up the road, we love&nbsp;<a href="https://northantsleicsrutland.muddystilettos.co.uk/lifestyle/wellbeing-lifestyle/review-empowerment-training-centre-northampton/">Empowerment Training Centre</a> for super friendly gym sessions in a fun and supportive environment. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-community">COMMUNITY</h2>



<p>Moulton is a buzzing little place that really does retain it&#8217;s own sense of identity, despite being so close to Northampton. <a href="https://moultonfestival.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moulton Festival </a>is&nbsp;held every year, with a carnival parade and fun run. Moulton Community Centre is a fairly new facility with a café, pre-school and a library with regular classes and groups including a baby and toddler sign language group, children&#8217;s art and gardening clubs, a book club and a variety of creative workshops. There&#8217;s also a number of public gardens with playgrounds, pocket parks and a village walking trail. </p>

<p>Crowfields Common nature reserve&nbsp;is a haven for wildlife and wildflowers, while nearby Pitsford Reservoir offers open water swimming sessions, sailing and windsurfing – or hire a bike and cycle the 7-mile trail. There&#8217;s also a lovely walking route around Sywell Country Park.&nbsp;History buffs are spoilt too with <a href="https://www.holdenby.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Holdenby House</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lamporthall.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lamport Hall</a>&nbsp;and Princess Diana’s childhood home,&nbsp;<a href="https://althorpestate.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Althorp</a>, all within striking distance. Green-fingered types shouldn&#8217;t miss <a href="https://www.cotonmanor.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coton Manor Garden</a>&nbsp;too, which has a decent plant nursery, a beautiful native woodland and its famous resident flamingos.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CULTURE</h2>



<p><a href="https://moultontheatre.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moulton Theatre</a> and Cinema is absolutely brilliant for getting in some quality culture, putting on five shows a year. Recent productions have included <em>The Girl on the Train, A Christmas Carol</em> and <em>The Importance of Being Earnest</em>. Just down the road, <a href="https://www.northamptonmuseums.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Northampton Museum and Art Gallery</a>&nbsp;is an absolute must-visit, housing the world’s biggest shoe collection, as is the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.royalandderngate.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Royal and Derngate</a>&nbsp;for top tier theatre and comedy, as well as&nbsp;<a href="https://www.northamptonfilmhouse.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Northampton Filmhouse</a>&nbsp;for new release, arthouse and old school films. </p>

<p>As mentioned above there is a pre-school in the community centre, <a href="https://moultonpreschool.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Little Acorns</a>, rated Good by Ofsted, which takes children from age 2 yrs, and <a href="https://www.favoursdaynursery.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Favours Day Nursery</a>, rated Good by Ofsted in 2023, takes babies from 3 months and runs after-school clubs for children up to 11 yrs old, and has a lovely outside play area. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SCHOOL</h2>



<p>There’s plenty of choice, being so well-connected. <a href="https://www.moultonprimaryschool.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moulton Primary School</a>, <a href="https://www.overstoneprimaryschool.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Overstone Primary</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pitsfordprimary.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pitsford</a> and <a href="https://parklands.northants.sch.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Parklands</a> primary schools are all rated Good by Ofsted. For secondary, <a href="https://www.moultonschool.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moulton School and Science College</a> is also rated Good. </p>

<p>Holly Lodge is an impressive gothic style mansion built in 1861 by the chemist Philadelphus Jeyes, inventor of&nbsp;the locally beloved <a href="https://www.jeyessnorthamptonshiresauce.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jeyes Northamptonshire Sauce</a>. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">COMMUTE</h2>



<p>In terms of rail travel, Northampton train station is 20 mins away, where daily parking is £8.20 and an annual season ticket to Euston will set you back £7,352. A fast train into Euston takes 50 mins. The same line goes up to Birmingham, Manchester and as far as Glasgow and Edinburgh, so it’s well connected.</p>
