These twin villages are a property hunter&#8217;s manorial dream and just a hop skip and a jump away from the brilliant shops and cultural hubs of Market Harborough in one direction and Leicester in the other, and with Uppingham and Oakham both within easy striking distance, you&#8217;ll be spoilt for choice.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.oggikibworth.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oggi</a> is great for Italian, dishing up mouth-watering, authentic pizza and pasta and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/dodies_cafe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dodie&#8217;s Café</a> does fantastic brunches, lunches and cakes – slightly obsessed with their peanut butter and caramelised banana pancakes. Looking for somewhere for drinks? <a href="https://kibworthswan.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Swan</a> in Kibworth Beauchamp has its very own tucked away gin and rum bar. </p>



<p>Make a beeline for Market Harborough, a fifteen minute drive, where you&#8217;ll find&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/thegaragebakehouse/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Garage Bakehouse</a>&nbsp;(we love their Báhn Mì demi baguettes) and&nbsp;<a href="https://twooldgoats.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Two Old Goats</a>, and don&#8217;t miss the gorgeous, bright and airy&nbsp;<a href="https://bowdenstores.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bowden Stores</a>. If you&#8217;re looking for somewhere a bit special, head into Uppingham, a twenty-five minute drive, where you&#8217;ll find <a href="https://www.fernuppingham.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fern</a>, a must-visit for small plates and amazing cocktails, <a href="https://www.finchsarms.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Finch&#8217;s Arms</a> in Hambleton, or Michelin Starred <a href="https://www.hambletonhall.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hambleton Hall</a>. </p>

<p>Considering the Kibworths are pretty cutesy wee villages, shopping options aren&#8217;t too shocking. There&#8217;s the fab <a href="https://kibworthbooks.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kibworth Books</a>, a lovely indie bookshop with heaps of author events and regular book clubs; <a href="https://www.kibworthantiquescentre.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kibworth Antiques Centre</a>, a treasure trove for unique finds which also has it&#8217;s own café, as well as a very cool retro clothing store, aptly names <a href="https://www.retrostyling.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Retro Styling</a>; and the family-run, farm to fork <a href="https://bridge67.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bridge 67 Butchers</a>. Up the road in Market Harborough, we love <a href="https://bagelandgriff.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bagel and Griff</a>, for beautifully stylish homewares and gifts, as well as <a href="https://www.gingerkateprelovedclothing.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ginger Kate</a> for pre-loved designer threads (if you covet the likes of Marant and Ganni but can&#8217;t justify the price tag then this is a real treasure trove); and you can pick up the best bread in the business from <a href="https://www.hambletonbakery.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hambleton Bakery</a>. You&#8217;ll also find Space NK, Jigsaw, Jo Malone, Mint Velvet, Loake, The White Company and many more. Oh, and don&#8217;t miss the superb <a href="https://www.farndonfields.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Farndon Fields</a> farm shop. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-health-amp-wellbeing">HEALTH &amp; WELLBEING</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.the200strong.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The 200 Strong</a> is a gym offering group classes and 1-1 personal training (plus they also have a coffee and work area so you need never leave!). There&#8217;s also <a href="https://www.eptlab.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">EPT Lab</a> in the village, as well as <a href="https://www.thefitnessbox.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Fitness Box</a> in nearby Tur Langton. If you don&#8217;t have a fit bod when you move in, you&#8217;ll have no excuse not to get on it, and over in Market Harborough, try <a href="https://www.optimumyouyoga.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Optimum You</a> for yoga, pilates and nutrition coaching. We absolutely love their warm hatha classes, a bit like hot yoga but slightly dialled down on the sweatometer. Head in the opposite direction to Leicester for <a href="https://bikramyogaleicester.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bikram Yoga</a> on Rutland Street, as well as the amazing <a href="https://strongpilates.co.uk/location/leicester/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Strong Pilates</a> on King Richards Road, which combines reformer pilates with hardcore cardio workouts – definitely one to get your heart rate up. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-community">COMMUNITY</h2>



<p>There&#8217;s a village hall offering the like of taekwondo, pilates, step aerobics and film club.  <a href="https://www.kibworthvillage.co.uk/heritage-trails.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kibworth Heritage Trails</a> take in Anglo-Saxon and Bronze Age burial grounds, civil war sites and the early 18th century windmill. There&#8217;s also a skate park, cricket club and football club, as well as&nbsp;air rifle and clay pigeon shooting on offer. </p>

<p><a href="https://windmillfarmpark.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Windmill Farm Park</a> is a fab day out for young families, with rare and native animal breeds, indoor and outdoor play areas, ride on tractors&nbsp;and a woodland, as well as a café. </p>



<p>Nearby, Grade I listed country house (and National Muddy Award Winning),&nbsp;<a href="https://kelmarsh.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kelmarsh Hall</a>&nbsp;is well worth visiting during the open season to see the charming gardens and stately interiors and <a href="https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/things-to-do/museums-and-attractions/foxton-locks-leicestershire" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Foxton Locks</a> is home to Britain’s longest and steepest set of staircase locks. In Leicester,&nbsp;<a href="https://kriii.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">King Richard III Visitor Centre&nbsp;</a>is a fab museum where you can see exhibits on King Richard III’s life, death and grave discovery, plus there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.leicestermuseums.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leicester Museum and Art Gallery</a>&nbsp;and <a href="https://spacecentre.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The National Space Centre</a>. </p>

<p>The <a href="https://nevillholtfestival.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nevill Holt</a> arts festival takes place on the stunning Nevill Holt Estate in June, showcasing classical music, theatre, art, jazz and contemporary music, alongside conversations with leading novelists, historians, broadcasters and artists and every summer join in with the&nbsp;<a href="https://harboroughcarnival.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Market Harborough Carnival</a>&nbsp;with a parade, floats, food and drink, entertainment and more. </p>



<p><a href="https://harboroughtheatre.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Harborough Theatre</a> is a fantastic theatre set in a historic building where you&#8217;ll find a busy programme of plays, comedy and film screenings. Just across the street, the Symington Building, originally a Victorian corset factory, now houses the <a href="https://www.harboroughmuseum.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Harborough Museum</a>. </p>



<p>The Cultural Quarter in Leicester is your go to for top tier theatre and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.curveonline.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leicester Curve</a>&nbsp;has all the big hitters and cutting edge productions. There&#8217;s also&nbsp;<a href="https://www.phoenix.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Phoenix</a>&nbsp;cinema and arts venue and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.academymusicgroup.com/o2academyleicester/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">O2 Academy</a>&nbsp;for big name musical acts and club nights.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s Kibworth Primary School and Kibworth Mead Academy or, if you&#8217;re looking at independent options, <a href="https://www.lgs-senior.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leicester Grammar School</a> is less than ten minutes away and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.brookehousecollege.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Brooke House College</a>&nbsp;is a great choice for pupils aged 11 – 19 yrs and has a wonderfully diverse mix of students, as well as the option to board and a brilliant Football Academy.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-best-kept-secret">BEST KEPT SECRET</h2>



<p>Kibworth Harcourt Mill dates from the early 18th century and has recently undergone extensive restoration, allowing it to be fully operational for the first time since the Thirties. It&#8217;s the only surviving postmill from more than 200 once in use in Leicestershire.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-commute">COMMUTE</h2>



<p>From Leicester, train station – a 20 min drive from Kibworth – it’s just over 1 hr direct into London St Pancras if you hop on a speedy train. An annual season train ticket costs £12,236. Driving to London takes around 2 hrs.</p>
