However, away from that particular spot, there are more affordable properties and the village has a friendly community spirit centred around Woodgate, the main shopping street and great links with neighbouring Mountsorrel and south to Leicester.</p>

We&#8217;re big fans of Rothley Fitness and Kickboxing Studio too, which is super inclusive and offers sessions for kids too. </p>

<p>The village is centred around its extensive parks and green spaces and there is a community library that hosts events including outdoor cinema, a lego club for kids and a book club for grown-ups, as well as an annual book themed village scarecrow trail. </p>

<p>The historic <a aria-label="Rothley Court Hotel (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.greenekinginns.co.uk/hotels/rothley-court-hotel/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rothley Court Hotel</a> with its sweeping driveway was originally mentioned in the Domesday Book and is also associated with the Knights Templar. Rothley&#8217;s beautiful <a aria-label="restored railway  (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/station-facilities/rothley/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">restored railway</a> station is still lit by gas light and gives an idea of a bygone era. The train still run every weekend through the glorious Leicestershire countryside. Nearby, the<a href="http://heritage-centre.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Heritage Centre</a> has a den building area, a small&nbsp;play area, nature trails&nbsp;to explore and crazy golf&nbsp;at the weekends and school holidays.</p>



<p>Head to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.leicscountryparks.org.uk/beacon-visitor/">Beacon Hill</a>, where the kids can enjoy the ample play areas, plus plenty of cycling and walking routes. Nearby,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.stonehurstfarm.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stonehurst Farm</a>&nbsp;is where children can get up close with the farm animals, explore the adventure playground and hop on the tractor rides. They do fab afternoon tea and fist class dining trains too. If you need any more convincing to move here, <a href="https://rothleywine.com/visiting-the-vineyard/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rothley Wine Estate</a>&nbsp;is a must-visit, book in for a vineyard tour and a tasting of award-winning Leicestershire wines.</p>

<p>In nearby Mountsorrel, the local <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.mountsorrelmemorialcentre.co.uk/" target="_blank">Memorial Centre</a> hold a variety of excellent live shows all year round from comedy nights to Christmas pantos.</p>

<p>Rothley railway station was featured in the 1988 film&nbsp;<em>Buster</em>&nbsp;and the 2004&nbsp;TV adaptation of <em>Miss Marple</em>.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s not likely that you&#8217;ll be commuting daily to London but it&#8217;s just over a 2 hrs drive or alternatively, you can get into London from Loughborough station (a 15 min drive from Rothley) in around 75 mins. Annual season tickets start for just under £10,000+ from here.</p>
