<p>A large, vibrant village with both Watling Street (famous Roman road – look it up!) and the Grand Union Canal meandering alongside, and within a stone&#8217;s throw of the M1 Junction 16, Weedon is ideal for commuting. But there&#8217;s a lot more to this buzzing community than just location. Steeped in history, you&#8217;ll find oodles of character here and a ton of brilliant businesses from fitness and foodie to bookshops and bridal boutiques. </p>

<p>Probably (definitely, but don&#8217;t tell Mr Muddy) the best pizza in Northants, <a aria-label="Santina's Wood Fired Pizza Co. (opens in a new tab)" href="https://northants.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/santinas-wood-fired-pizza-weedon-northamptonshire/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Santina&#8217;s Wood Fired Pizza Co.</a> is based in Weedon. With regular mouth-watering pop-ups in the village and surrounding area, look out for their rather cool branded Land Rover Defender. <a aria-label="Roman Way Brewery (opens in a new tab)" href="https://romanwaybrewery.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roman Way Brewery</a>, at the <a aria-label="Royal Ordnance Depot (opens in a new tab)" href="https://the-depot.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Royal Ordnance Depot</a>, hosts regular tap room events with street food and live music. <a aria-label="The Narrow Boat (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.narrowboatatweedon.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Narrow Boat</a> is a lovely gastro-pub overlooking the canal, serving up dishes with an emphasis on local produce and, just up the road in Upper Stowe, <a aria-label="The Barn (opens in a new tab)" href="https://thebarnrestaurant.net/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Barn</a> restaurant is a popular eaterie set within the <a aria-label="Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre (opens in a new tab)" href="https://olddairyfarmcraftcentre.square.site/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre</a> in nearby Upper Stowe, where you&#8217;ll also discover a whole host of irresistible craft and interiors shops. </p>



<p>The 1867 at <a aria-label="Heart of the Shires (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.heartoftheshires.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Heart of the Shires</a> shopping village serves up delightful meals and cream teas, with cosy interiors and a decent garden area &#8211; perfect for a family lunch or an afternoon refresher when you&#8217;re laden with shopping bags. Head out to nearby Farthingstone village, where you&#8217;ll find <a aria-label="The King's Arms (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.facebook.com/Thekingsarmsfarthingstone/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The King&#8217;s Arms</a>, probably one of the quirkiest and friendliest village pubs ever, with chintzy sofas by the fire, a fabulous garden dotted with homespun sculptures and gorgeous food on offer including seafood platters with fish delivered overnight from Cornwall. A rare treat in landlocked Northants.</p>

At <a aria-label="Noborough Lodge (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.facebook.com/NoboroughLodgeFarmShop/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Noborough Lodge</a> farm shop you’ll find locally produced and homegrown foods, including honey and eggs produced right here on the farm, Heygates flour, and a selection of local cheeses, all conveniently located opposite Heart of the Shires shopping village. </p>

<p>Our go-to destination for yoga, pilates and barre fitness classes, <a href="https://www.posefitness.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pose Fitness</a> not only has inspiring instructors and a studio space with enormous windows and high ceilings, they also host regular social events and workshops. <a href="https://hotpodyoga.com/studios/daventry/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hot Pod Yoga</a> offers sweaty classes for extra bendiness. <a aria-label="The Weedon Project (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.theweedonproject.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Weedon Project</a> (see what they did there? ) is a friendly indoor bouldering gym that caters to climbers of all ages and there&#8217;s also <a href="https://www.crossfitwdn.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CrossFit</a> for the extra hardcore. There&#8217;s a pretty good dentist in the village, <a href="https://www.savingsmiles.dental/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Saving Smiles</a>, as well as a GP surgery and a vets.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-community">COMMUNITY</h2>



<p>There&#8217;s a real sense of community spirit in Weedon, with lots of family friendly events happening through the year including the Weedon Weekender, which takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend and is organised by a group of village residents. There&#8217;s also a running club, art group, film club and a whole abundance of other community groups to get involved in.</p>

<p><a href="https://spencerofalthorp.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Althorp House</a>, the family home of the Spencer family and the final resting place of Princess Diana, is close by and open to visitors during the summer season. <a href="https://www.holdenby.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Holdenby House</a> is also just 20 mins by car.&nbsp;<a href="https://whiltonmill.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Whilton Mill</a>&nbsp;karting is great for petrol heads and, for fresh air and trees, try nearby Everdon Stubbs and Harlestone Firs for hearty outdoor walks. </p>

<p><a href="https://romanwaybrewery.co.uk/category/events/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roman Way Brewery</a> put on regular comedy nights alongside pop-up bar and street-food events. The <a href="https://www.royalandderngate.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Royal and Derngate</a> theatre and arts venue in Northampton is just 20 mins by car, with the <a href="https://www.theoldsavoy.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Deco Theatre</a> and <a href="https://www.northamptonfilmhouse.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Northampton Filmhouse</a> also in easy reach.</p>

Weedon Bec Pre-School isn Ofsted rated Good setting in the village hall, which also offers wrap around care for school-age children. <a href="https://www.weedonbecprimary.co.uk/school-information/stepping-stones-pre-school" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stepping Stones Pre-School</a> is set within the village Primary School, ideal if you&#8217;re planning for your children to go through to Reception here.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s a visitors centre tucked away at the <a href="https://the-depot.uk/the-visitor-centre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Royal Ordnance Depot (opens in a new tab)">Royal Ordnance Depot</a> and it&#8217;s a history geeks dream. You can find out all about what was once the epicentre of British military might. Men in uniform with big guns right here in Northants, you say? It’s like a scene from&nbsp;<em>Pride and Prejudice</em>.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-commute">COMMUTE</h2>



<p>Long Buckby train station is a 10 min drive and it&#8217;s 67 miles from Long Buckby to London, with the fastest direct train journey taking an 63 mins to Euston. An annual season ticket will set you back £7,028. Driving to central London takes 1hr 45mins.</p>
