<p>Dua Lipa, Kaia Gerber, Natalie Portman, Dakota Johnson, Florence Welsh and SJP all have their own, hugely popular, book clubs, not to mention the Mother of the cool girl Book Club, Reese Witherspoon. It&#8217;s like getting a reading recommendation from your bestie. So if you&#8217;re not already dashing about town with the latest in literary fiction tucked into your tote bag it&#8217;s time to find your nearest book club and get stuck in. Here are some brilliantly bookish local groups to join.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-saints-coffee-northampton"><a href="https://www.saintscoffee.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Saints Coffee</a>, Northampton</h2>



<p>This community focused Northampton café has plenty of fab events each month (as well as amazing coffee and food), with an emphasis on connection and creativity, not least of which is a monthly book group for women. Cocktails, wine and coffee are available to help lubricate the evening, which takes place on the third Thursday of each month. Recent reads include <em>Milkman</em> by Anna Burns and <em>The Familiar</em> by Leigh Bardugo and <em>In Memoriam</em> by Alice Winn.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bookclub-at-the-barn-kibworth-books-kibworth-harcourt"><a href="https://kibworthbooks.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bookclub at the Barn</a>, Kibworth Books, Kibworth Harcourt</h2>



<p>This friendly and relaxed group meets every two months, focusing on a new paperback to talk about, with refreshments and a chance to spend an evening with other book lovers. November&#8217;s book choice is&nbsp;<em>The Honey Witch</em> by Sydney J. Shields. It&#8217;s free to attend, provided each guest has bought a copy of the book for discussion from Kibworth Books, either in-store or through the website.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-suddenly-bookshop-daventry"><a href="https://www.suddenlybookshop.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Suddenly Bookshop</a>, Daventry</h2>



<p>There are not one, but two monthly book clubs at Suddenly bookshop, a contemporary fiction group and a sci-fi group, each of which are free to attend and you can get a ten percent discount on purchasing the book in store. They do fill up early, so be sure to book ahead. October&#8217;s picks are <em>Ordinary Time </em>by Cathy Rentzenbrink for the contemporary club and <em>Hum</em> by Helen Phillips for the sci-fi club. </p>

<p>A Northants based, roaming book club, popping-up at intimate venues with the aim of finding connection through a shared love of books and reading. Recent book picks include <em>Slanting Towards The Sea</em>, the debut novel by Lidija Hilje. November events will take place at Chapel &amp; Co. in Blakesley and The Royal Oak in Eydon, discussing the Booker shortlisted novel <em>Audition</em> by Katie Kitamura. </p>

<p>A  friendly and welcoming group, meeting on the last Wednesday of the month at the Kino Lounge in Kettering to share a love of reading. If you fancy connecting with like minded people and expanding your reading a little, then this could be the group for you. Recent picks include <em>The Girlfriend</em> by Michelle Frances and <em>The Sun Is Also A Star</em> by Nicola Yoon. </p>

<p>The monthly book club at Magazine Heaven is the perfect opportunity to read, discuss, and explore new books in a relaxed, welcoming setting, taking place each month on a Thursday evening, with book choices ranging from contemporary fiction to timeless classics, hidden gems, and thought-provoking non-fiction, everyone is welcome to join the discussion in a pressure-free environment. Upcoming dates and titles include <em>Fleabag: the Scriptures</em> by Phoebe Waller Bridge, <em>Think Again</em> by Jacqueline Wilson, <em>Prima Facie</em> (play) by Suzie Miller and <em>The Rabbit Hutch</em> by Tess Gunty.</p>

<p>Fully Booked founder Charlotte created this vibrant book group to foster connections in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, creating a space for shared experiences and forging friendships over food, cake, and drinks and books. Books are chosen by readers via Instagram poll and the group meets each month at a different location in Leicester. Recent Reads have included <em>The Boyfriend</em> by Freida McFadden and <em>Think Again</em> by Jacqueline Wilson. The next pick is <em>The Wedding People</em> by Alison Espach, to be held at Bitsy&#8217;s Emporium on <strong>2 Nov</strong>, with all proceeds raised from the event going to Rainbow&#8217;s Hospice.</p>

<p>A self-described &#8220;secret society for the well-read and wildly curious&#8221;, The Ember Chapter has a distinctly magical vibe, inviting readers to step beyond the ordinary and into a world of stories, symbols, and spellbinding conversation. There&#8217;s a membership, but you can opt for a taster session before you fully commit. October&#8217;s pick is <em>They Never Learn </em>by Layne Fargo.</p>
