<p>This outdoor wooden playground is sprawled across four acres of gorgeous greenery and nestled within the castle grounds. It features hidden tunnels, climbing walls, four slides, a zip line, an enormous pirate ship and is perfect for all ages. If you can tear the kids away, head across the road to the retail village, Animal Park or hike up to the castle or explore the gardens. Entrance included in the garden ticket.</p>

<p>Not technically a playground but definitely somewhere kids can spend hours or even an entire day. The 15 acres of the LOPC provides adventurous outdoor activity experiences designed to stimulate, educate and motivate young people and there&#8217;s everything from abseiling to aerial trekking, balance beams, climbing walls, high rope activities and more for members and non-members. They offer childcare, after school and holiday clubs and activities start from £13.50.</p>

<p>This family-friendly centre in the National Forest has an outdoor play area that covers an epic 120 acres and includes an adventure play, an activity trail, a fairy labyrinth, an outdoor playground and more. Older kids can explore the Hi Ropes Adventure which has 15 aerial sections to complete and comes with climbing nets and high level walkways and the Lo Ropes is perfect for juniors (5 years+). If they&#8217;re still after something thrilling, lead them to the 30 ft Climbing Wall.</p>

<p>A firm favourite in the Muddy house, this 78 acre park has become one of the city&#8217;s most popular features. There&#8217;s two play areas &#8211; one for littlies which feature a sand pit, swings and climbing frames and right opposite is the play area for older kids. It&#8217;s got a space net, swings and a multi-function climbing frame and you&#8217;ll also find football pitches, orienteering courses, an outdoor gym, tennis courts and a sensory garden plus, plenty of space for parents to spread a blanket out on the grassy areas.</p>

<p>One of our top spots for a peaceful stroll, this gorgeous 750 acre site also boasts a massive and recently zhuzhed up adventure playground. Despite its size, this wooden play area blends into the lovely surroundings. It includes water play with small stream and water wheels, a large sand play area, a climbing tower with&nbsp;giant slide, tunnels, stepping stones and a sunken ship. </p>

<p>To the trees! Set in a former ironstone quarry with a whopping 83 hectares of woodland, Jungle Parc is definitely not for the faint hearted. You do have to cough up to have a go, but it’s pretty awesome. There’s a children’s Adventurer Course with over 50 different activities suitable for kids from the age of 4, and the Xplorer Course for Big Kids from age 10 and adults.</p>

<p>Brand new this year, the adventure play area at West Lodge Farm Park has huge slides for bigger kids and dedicated sand pits and smaller climbing equipment for tiddlers. Don’t be shy, the 5 seater swing will even take Mums and Dads. There’s also a huge indoor play barn here for soggy days, as well as ride on tractors and adventure golf.</p>

<p>There’s endless adventures to have at Wicksteed, but if you want outdoorsy fun then the Tree Top Walk will definitely help the little darlings to burn off some energy. They can climb, scramble and crawl through the 90-metre course, over rope bridges, cargo nets and tree trunks and into the treetops up to 8m high.</p>

<p>Hidden away in the Christmas Tree Plantation (it already sounds exciting!) is Compton Verney’s adventure playground.&nbsp;Children of all ages can climb, swing, explore and whizz along the pines on the zip wire. Dreamy, shame it’s just for kids. Access is included with day pass admission so make a day of it by exploring the art gallery and beautiful Capability Brown grounds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This country park is home to lots of hidden little parks, high ropes climbing and even <a href="https://goape.co.uk/locations/coventry" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Go Ape</a> for the braver youngster. Strapped in with all the latest safety gear watch your little one swing through the treetops like a modern-day Mowgli, and if you’re feeling brave go and join them. Park entry is free with added charges for Go Ape. </p>

<p>The ultimate adventurers can follow in the steps of the great Bear Grylls at his adventure centre just next to the NEC. Think high ropes, assault courses, climbing walls and even shark diving if your little ones – and you – are feeling brave. Age restrictions are in place on some activities so check before you book.&nbsp;</p>
