The house, which is built for entertaining, comes fully staffed &#8211; naturally &#8211; and features a grand entrance hall, and formal rooms with lofty ceilings and panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. <p>Hambleton Hall is the most magnificent boutique getaway nestled on the Hambleton Peninsular, a little piece of land that almost forms and island on Rutland Water, making it the ultimate in secluded, private luxury. Renowned for impeccable service, Hambleton’s decor is giving traditional English elegance. Think four-poster beds, sumptuous florals and <em>toile de juoy</em> and indulgent marble bathrooms with deep roll-top baths. If you really don’t fancy sharing your hotel with (gasps) others, check in to the Croquet Suite, a private lodge separate from the main hotel with its own terrace. Take a dip in the outdoor pool, tour the grounds on foot to the water’s edge and collect bread from Hambleton’s own bakery in nearby Exton (or send your lady&#8217;s maid). </p>

<p>If you feel like indulging in a spot of quiet luxury make a beeline for The Orangery at RH in Aynho. The surrounding views are truly stunning and the high ceilings, huge arched windows looking out over the deer park and immaculately tasteful furnishings will have you feeling like you just got hitched to the Duke of Hastings. They specialise in small group dining, with tables accommodating up to a maximum of four people, so no rowdy groups here, thank you very much. You can also spend a good hour two wandering through the grounds and the stunning rooms in the house, which are technically a glorified interiors showroom, but without the crowds. Did I mention it’s valet parking?</p>

<p>This exceedingly elegant Grade 1 listed pile, dates from the reign of<strong> </strong>William and Mary and sits smack in the middle of 700 acres of private park and woodland &#8211; the ideal spot for sophisticated <em>soirée</em> on the lawn or to take a turn about the lake with a suitor. Inside, you&#8217;ll find the most spectacular ballroom with a frescoed ceiling, alongside five beautiful bedrooms in the main Hall and an additional ten in the Georgian Stables Courtyard (for the servants, presumably). In warmer weather guests can enjoy a spot of Benedict Bridgerton style wild swimming in the lake, followed by a cheeky soak in the wood fired hot tub. </p>

<p>The stunning gardens at Kelmarsh are Grade II listed, with an idiosyncratically English character that does away with excessive formality in favour of a more relaxed charm &#8211; Bridgerton House vibes incoming. Inside, think delicately refined interiors with the warmth of a family home. Visitors can relax in the tea rooms, or head over on 18 June for a Midsummer Garden Party, when you can explore the garrdens after closing time, complete with a glass of fizz and a delicious cream tea.</p>

<p>Positively bursting at the seams with elegance, Lamport Hall near Northampton has been the Isham family seat for 400 years, and we’d be half expecting Jonathan Bailey to stride across the lawn in his breeches as we sipped a <em>coupe de Champagne</em>. This stately home’s classical architecture, picturesque gardens and wonderful countryside views are only topped by its beautiful interiors. Think oak panelling and subtle Georgian hues with gilt-framed portraiture and marble fireplaces. That’ll do nicely.</p>
