Custodians of 10 acre plot in the stunning Welland Valley, right on the Northants/Rutland/Leicestershire border, Ian and Lauren Horton bought Ganders Farm in 2012 with the aim of becoming as self-sufficient as possible and have since transformed the farm into a thriving enterprise, producing scrumptious gelato and goats’ milk soaps, and offering gorgeous goat walking experiences, and doing it all with an ethos of environmental sustainability.

From unscented goat milk soap bars to lightly scented geranium and honey bars, shampoo soaps, soothing balms and even dog shampoos, Ganders’ goat milk soap is made entirely from natural ingredients to help ensure it is kind and gentle on sensitive skin.

With no harmful chemicals the gorgeous goat milk soap bars contain just four basic ingredients – rapeseed oil, goat milk, coconut oil, and lye, with no palm oil, preservatives, genetically modified crops, or parabens. Where possible all ingredients are locally sourced in Northamptonshire with rapeseed oil from producers less than 12 miles away and all goats milk and honey from right here on the farm.

Oh, and the gelato? Made using goat milk from the unbelievably cute farm residents and the very best ingredients, there are no preservatives, no artificial colours and no artificial flavours involved. Using their own delicately mild milk, they create seasonal flavours inspired by the hedgerows and surrounding countryside (think Nettle, and Apple with Blackberry Ripple), seeing the whole process through from beginning to end, from milking the goats to picking the fruits, and with two ice cream trailer units and two ice cream trikes, they can also cater for weddings, parties and and corporate events.
